3 Levels of Service

Retained Search – A retained search engagement with The Hardwick Group provides the highest level of commitment from our firm.  A customized hiring strategy is developed with the client, timelines and milestones are set and reports are provided to track the progress of the search.  Retained searches have priority over other engagements in terms of candidate exclusivity.  Retained searches are not only for C-level positions.  Clients retain our expertise to fill a variety of roles at all levels of their organization.  A typical retained search will require 1/3 of the estimated fee up front, 1/3 of the fee at a designated milestone and the final 1/3 after the candidate starts.

Exclusive Search – An exclusive search engagement bridges the gap between a contingency search and a retained search.  An engagement fee is required up front and candidates submitted on these searches take priority over contingency searches in terms of exclusivity.  Only after a client passes on a candidate will they be presented to other searches with other organizations.  In the hyper competitive market for talent, this has become our most popular format for working with our clients as they are able to balance up front cost with also gaining candidate exclusivity.  The initial engagement fee is based on the total scope of the search.

Contingency Search – A contingency search puts the ball in our court.  If we don’t deliver the right candidate for a client’s opening, we do not get paid.  The fee for a contingency search is due only after our candidate starts.  The Hardwick Group stands by its expertise and ability to deliver the highest level talent in the banking industry and we constantly take and fill contingency searches for our clients.
